Easter Wrap Up

We had our traditional Easter Brunch again this year. Although, this year was a bit different because the folks weren't here.  We decided to invite 2 other families who are also not from here, and have no family in the area.  I remember when my Mom used to do that.  She'd invite anyone who had no place to go, or no family.  We'd get a different bunch every year and it was great fun.
I decided we need to continue with that tradition, and we had a wonderful time.

Of course the kids started out the day with their Easter baskets...

I found it!
After our very yummy brunch, it was nice enough to go outside for an egg hunt.  The kids loved it.

Then it was on to dessert, and lots of running around, playing in the long awaited sun.  Oh, how we've waited for the sun!

What a beautiful and fun day we all had.
We hope you had a wonderful Easter!

Easter Preparations

It was egg coloring time again in our house.  Every year I dread the mess, but then remember how much fun I had doing this when I was little.  It's a family tradition and I have to keep it going.

they get right into it!

If they could get into it up to their elbows, they would!

The artists are finished
Now the only problem is that I have a dozen hard boiled eggs in my fridge that nobody will eat!  I must teach these kids to love egg salad.

Oh, The Things Tia Says!

Tia has been coming up with some real doozies lately.  Here's a sampling.

After reading a book about a naughty little boy who disobeys his parents she says to me with the most concernet look on her face...

"I want to know what's wrong with that kid!"

After a day of far too much whining and crying from baby sister, Tia says...

"Mom, I prayed last night that Gia wouldn't wake up with that grumpy face."

Upon seeing that we had some wet snow today, when it's supposed to be spring...

"Maybe God fell asleep and his weather wand went the wrong way, from spring to snow"

She's brilliant, I tell you!

Gia's Birthday Part Two

You know in our family the birthday celebrations go on for days.  This year was no exception.  We took the family up to Wisconsin for a 2 night stay at one of the indoor water parks.  I think we all had a blast, except for the birthday girl!  She was OK on the first day but she has a hard time settling down in a hotel, which meant she was sleep deprived for most of our stay there.
Her favorite part was the lazy river, and being with Daddy.  He's the whole world to her these days, and all she wanted to do was hang out with her favorite fella'!

Gia and her favorite guy
Totally exhausted and lounging
This girl knows how to have fun!
Things got worse as her sleep-o-meter went down.  Her cooperation level was at an all time low by the time we went out to dinner.

Gia's birthday ice cream sundae.  We were NOT allowed to sing!

A birthday picture without the birthday girl.  She refused to join us!
Gia's been telling everyone that she went to Wisconsin for her birthday and had so much fun.  I'm glad that's the way she remembers it!  Honestly, there were good parts, but there was a lot of crying.  We learned a great deal about her tolerance level and what not to do when we go to Disney in the fall.
We enjoyed our stay at the resort, it was truly a top-notch place.  We'd definitely go back again

Gia's Birthday Part One

Gia wanted to have a fancy tea party for her birthday this year.  I told her she could invite 4 friends, since she was turning 4.  That turned out to be the perfect number.  The little girls were so cute and everyone had a fantastic time.  Here are some pictures of the highlights...

LOVE the frosting
The finished product
The fancy table
All dressed up!
So fancy!

Gia kept saying "This is the best birthday ever!".  That's success in my book.
